BOOKRABBIT.COM SUPPORT FOR PEPPARD RUN/WALK www.bookrabbit.com

The new website for booklovers, www.bookrabbit.com, is supporting Twyford-based Feed The Children (UK)’s Peppard walk and run.  The event starts at Grey’s Green Golf Course, Rotherfield Peppard on Sunday 6th September and www.bookrabbit.com is sponsoring the winners’ trophies.

“We wanted to add something extra to the event,” says Feed The Children’s CEO, Brian Main, “so we wrote to local companies to see whether they would sponsor the trophies. Redberry Digital in Henley came up trumps as they were launching their new website www.bookrabbit.com. Now we have the BookRabbit trophies for people to aspire to each year.  They will be shields and each year the winner of the various categories will have their names added to the roll of honour.”

BookRabbit aims to bring people’s bookshelves to life. People registered on the site can upload images of their bookshelves, review, recommend and buy books; join in lively discussions; connect with other book lovers and discover new books and authors to suit their tastes. It is a whole new world for bibliophiles.

The Peppard walk/run starts from Greys Green Golf Course, adjacent to the Ruchetta Restaurant at Peppard Common, on the B481 Reading to Nettlebed Road, RG9 5JU.  For keen athletes and fun runners alike there is a 10k run, which starts at 10.30am and for leisure walkers and families (including the dog!) there is a shorter 7k route starting at 10.35am. Registration for both commences at 9.30am.

There will be trophies to be won for the person who raises the most sponsorship, medals for the first man, first woman, first boy and first girl (under 16) and everyone who participates receives a certificate. The entry fee for runners is £8 in advance or £12 on the day, walkers, £5 in advance and £6 on the day. All children under 16 are £1.

Anyone who would like to go that extra mile and raise sponsorship please ring 0118 9320 095 and ask for an official sponsorship form.

Says Redberry Digital’s creative director, Piers Berry, “We saw this as a great opportunity for supporting a local charity that does so much for children around the world and hopefully the trophies will raise the profile of the event even more.  We look forward to another successful year for the Peppard Run/Walk.”
