Michael Jackson fan, Priya Gehlot, is staging  ‘A Tribute to Michael Jackson’ on 30th July at Reading’s night club, Bar Risa.  From the proceeds of the event Priya plans to donate a generous sum to Feed The Children (UK)’s charity in support of work in Kenya.

Already Priya has lined up a great live performance by Michael Jackson impersonator, Darren Lee Hughes, who was recently appeared in the Reading Evening Post. She has also persuaded London's Premier Club DJ's: DJ DON 2k & DJ Sachy who have played at the O2 Arena DJ Fudgie (DMD Entertainment) & DJ Tiempo. Says Priya, “Like many other people around the world, I too was one of his fans. Michael has touched the lives of millions through his music and truly an inspiration to us all. Through this tribute eventIwish tocelebrate his life and musicand touch a few of those who are in need of just the basic necessities that we sometimes take for granted.

”I wanted to donate the proceeds to a charity where the majority of the funds are used for the cause. Feed The Children stood out for me as it uses 91% of the donation is used to directly benefit the people it supports. It's a local charity thatis solely reliant on fundraising and does not receive any type of governmentfunding for their good work.

”I hope to be able to make a minimum donation of £1000, however I will do all I can to promote the event and raise as much as possible,” says Priya “so please come along and have lots of fun and give us your support.”

Here is just one story from Kenya.  Rose and Mercy live in Kibera, a huge slum area notorious for its poverty and deprivation. These two little girls, and over 100,000 school age children, are dependant on FTC feeding programmes for a nourishing meal everyday - a simple thing thatoften makes the difference between a young child living or dying.

If you are unable to make the event you can still donate today...
