Eat a Breakfast, Save a Life 2009

During the 2008 Eat a Breakfast Save a Life day...

Time Team's professor Mick Aston, as known for his loud knitwear as for his archaeological expertise, made breakfast wearing a knitted breakfast, to publicise FTC's Eat A Breakfast, Save A Life day.

The jumper, designed and made by Bingley knitter Fred Brin, represents a full English fry-up on a traditional tablecloth - vegetarian style.

Look who had breakfast in 2008!

What your support does

Your breakfast party supports children like these in Uganda.  When they are not hungry, they can learn.  And when they can learn, they can transform their community.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day; yet so many people in the world do not have the choice of breakfast.

Help needy children across the world - eat breakfast with FTC on or around Tuesday 24 February 2009.

All you have to do:

  • Organise a breakfast at your club, company, church, school or home.

  • Make it any time of day - or even an all day breakfast.

  • Decide whom to invite.

  • Recruit friends or family as helpers - as cooks, waiters, entertainers.

  • Charge your guests for the cost of the food, plus a donation of £1 for FTC.

  • Go shopping.

  • Enjoy your breakfast party!

  • Afterwards, send the donations to Feed The Children.

  • We'd love to hear how your event went.  If you like, send us a photo from your breakfast.

FTC's Club AM breakfast clubs give children in Bristol and Birmingham the chance to start their school day with a nourishing breakfast.

The benefits - children can concentrate in school, improving their behaviour, academic performance and social skills.
