Kenya conflict appealWe need your help urgently, to help mitigate the effects of the conflict that has spread across Kenya following disputed election results. In most difficult situations, it is the most vulnerable who suffer most; children are not interested in politics, but it is they who bear the brunt of instability and food shortages. "We need to get food, blankets, sanitary towels and toiletries, along with basic medications into Kibera and the other slum areas," says Seintje Veldhuis, FTC's Kenya country director. "We desperately need extra help to get the feeding programmes back to normal. Programmes like ours are essential in communities like Kibera, because the families are so desperately poor. Sometimes a school meal is the only meal a child will get all day." |

Abandoned Baby Centre - business as usualWe were delighted to learn that the work of our Abandoned Baby Centre continues almost uninterrupted; enough of the centre staff live only a short distance away for care of the babies to continue. Little ones like Josefine (right) need continuity of loving care, and we are very pleased to reassure are supporters that care has not been compromised by the chaos elsewhere in Nairobi. |
