Citizenship resources
In conjunction with Community Service Volunteers, and with the help of a
local secondary school, Feed The Children has developed a resource package
to support the Citizenship curriculum at Key Stage 3.
This is a modular resource, suitable for delivery as a one day
activity, or in smaller modules as required by the school.
The package comprises:
- A PowerPoint presentation that describes Kibera, the second largest
slum in East Africa, and the particular issues faced by schools.
- Maths activity; how do you balance a school budget when you have
just £20 per pupil per year to spend? Will you pay more teachers,
or buy more books? Students work in groups to decide their
priorities.
- Practical activity; developing world children are incredibly
resourceful in finding ways to play. Can you make a toy out of
rubbish?
- Creative activity; design a poster, or record a two minute radio
advert for Feed The Children.
Please call us on 0118 932 0095 or email
if you would like to use our
Citizenship resources in school.
